Job Title: Farmers Market Associate
Organization: Fire Swamp Provisions
Location: Marin Farmers Markets (Thursdays and Sundays)

Job Overview:
Fire Swamp Provisions is seeking a friendly and enthusiastic Farmers Market Associate to join our team at the Marin Farmers Markets on Thursdays and Sundays. The successful candidate will load our van at the bakery, set up the stand to our standards, proactively engage customers, and maintain strong communication with ownership on market trends.

Responsibilities:

Set up and work the booth in a timely and organized fashion.
Welcome and assist customers, sharing information about our products and farmers.
Keep the booth organized & stocked at all times; breakdown at the end of markets..
Communicate with ownership in a timely manner.
Promote our offerings and educate visitors on the quality and origin of our products.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of our market space and display.
Process sales and payments accurately.
Enforce market policies and safety guidelines as needed
Assist with additional promotional activities and signage as needed.
Represent Fire Swamp Provisions with professionalism and enthusiasm.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Strong customer service and communication skills.
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Previous experience in retail, food service, or farmers markets is a plus.
Passion for local food, farming, and community engagement.
Reliable, punctual, and adaptable to market needs.

Schedule:

Thursdays and Sundays during market hours (5:30AM to approximately 2PM).
Additional days if available.

AM Baker, PM Baker

Location: San Rafael, CA 94901

AM BAKER: 40 hours/week Monday through Friday, Start time between 3-5 AM

PM BAKER: 30-40 hours/week Wednesday through Saturday (4 ten hour shifts)

Salary/rate: Starting $23-$26/hour depending on experience, attitude, and references. Negotiable after a 60 day trial period.

Professional Requirements: ServeSafe or equivalent certification (can be certified post-hire), minimum one year bakery experience or two years culinary experience

About us: Fire Swamp Provisions is a very small artisan bakery focusing on local, market driven breads and pastries made by hand with love and care.

About the role: We are looking for two hard working, smart, self-motivated, and enthusiastic bakers to fill out our small and excellent team.

AM Baker will work primarily with the head baker to handle a variety of production, including wholesale and retail breads, laminated pastries, scones, pie, and more.

PM Baker will work primarily with the owner to bake, finish, and pack items for markets, plus limited production.

Responsibilities:

Scaling, mixing, dividing and shaping of various naturally leavened and yeasted doughs. Includes baking, packing, and labelling, as well. Other duties needed include cleaning, organizing, rotation of product, inventory and facilities maintenance, and any other duties as assigned.

Candidate requirements:

Minimum 1-2 years experience in a production bakery (negotiable for the right candidate)
Common sense, exceptional attitude, and willingness to check your ego at the door.
Understanding of baker’s math and percentages, dough fermentation and lamination
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Able to lift 50+ pounds frequently
Able to stand on one’s feet throughout an entire shift
Able to work clean, fast, and with a sense of purpose
